Zero emissions suburbs The ACT Government is proud to be the first Australian state or territory to achieve 100% renewable electricity.

In addition, the ACT has a target of achieving net zero emissions by 2045 at the latest. By net zero emissions we mean that we will achieve a balance between greenhouse gas emissions produced and greenhouse gas emissions taken out of the atmosphere. The SLA will help the ACT achieve this target.

Our objectives

  • Work towards the creation of zero emissions suburbs and urban precinct
  • Support industry and residents to build sustainable homes
  • Support sustainable modes of transport
